There are some dates the MVHS field is available in October, there is only room for a couple of teams on those dates. If you are currently practicing at Whitmarsh during the dark, contact Sarah Minton to see if these dates might work out for you.
All teams: In November we will have the field 6:00pm to 9:00pm on most days. Contact Sarah to let her know if you prefer 6:00-7:30pm or 7:30-9:00pm and on which days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. She will try to work with everyone’s request. We don’t want the U-11 kids practicing until 9pm, so there may be some some adjustments.

PSSA Training.
- Team training times are being changed as evening light becomes shorter. Check your time and if you can’t make it, contact PSSA. Because some parents and players can’t get to the fields at an earlier time, Chuck Lamay indicated some teams may need to go to a one-hour session, instead of the usual 90 minutes.
- PSSA will be providing training for rec players in October. Details to follow. Please promote this activity among your rec players and coaches.
Contract Committee. A contract committee was formed to set out the Club’s training and coach support requirements for the coming two years. Chair is Monico Garza. Jame Witzel, Chuck Lamay; Eric Magnusen; Duane Henson; Natalie Briggs; Bob Raymond.
Labor Day Kick. Chuck expects that after all bills are paid, the tournament will bring in about $8,000 to the Club. Thanks to all teams who provided field marshal services. You did a great job.
Evaluation of Coaches and PSSA. A packet of Evaluation forms were distributed to the team reps who were present at the meeting. If you did not receive a packet, please contact Jame Witzel, right away to arrange for a pickup. witzels@netzero.com. Return your evaluations to Jame. The summary will be available by the November meeting.
Uniforms. Tracy presented a package proposal for Nike uniforms. Lots of discussion on whether to have the same level of uniforms or allow for lower cost uniforms for some teams. Also, proposals to have the club purchase the uniforms.
Treasurer Report. Duane reported that the ending balance in September will be about $50,000 placing in sound financial shape for the year. Income for the month was $16,250, all from team payments of club fees. Major expenses were $3,600 to PSSA; $2,375 for keeper training.
- Ref payment: Just to clarify, you may pay refs with either a check or cash. Make sure you sign the check!

There was a time when many teams maintained a team website. If you are interested in creating a team website on eteamz.com, feel free to email Anna Schoneker. She has just set up an eteamz site for the GU11-Uteda team. It is a work in progress–websites always are. If you already have a team website and would like it posted on the Club website, please send the URL to NWUnited Communications.

NWUnited teams did well at the 2008 Labor Day Kick. Here’s a very happy GU15 team. One guesses from the look on Gary’s face, he said something to prompt laughs and grins. Email NWU Communications for the full-sized original–courtesy of Sarah Minton.
